What is a Disability Day Centre?
A disability day centre is a dedicated community space offering a variety of programs tailored for adults with disabilities. Unlike home-based support, these centres provide a dynamic setting where participants can engage in group activities, social events, and skill-building programs, all while receiving the support they need.
At Harmony House, we believe in more than just care—we create opportunities for fun, friendships, and personal development.

Why a Day Centre Instead of In-Home Care?
While in-home support are incredibly valuable, day centres provide additional benefits that contribute to personal growth and well-being:
- Stronger Social Connections – Participants build lasting friendships and engage in group activities.
- Enhanced Independence – Structured programs encourage personal development and skill-building.
- Varied Experiences – Exposure to different activities fosters creativity and confidence.
Many participants utilise both in-home support and day centre programs under their NDIS plan. If you have questions about funding or eligibility, our team is here to help.
NDIS Funding for Disability Day Centre Programs
Harmony House is an NDIS-registered provider, and many of our services can be funded through participants’ NDIS plans. Our programs are accessible under various NDIS support categories, including Core Supports, which covers assistance with social and community participation, and Capacity Building Supports, which helps participants develop life skills and independence.
To access funding, participants should review their NDIS plan to confirm available support categories. If assistance is needed, a support coordinator or local area coordinator (LAC) can provide guidance. Once eligibility is established, Harmony House can assist with the necessary documentation, ensuring a smooth funding process. Self-managed, plan-managed, and NDIA-managed participants may all be eligible, depending on their individual plan structure.
